Tofukuji and Kyoto National Museum
Today, pretty much for the hell of it, I went to Kyoto. First I went to the Kyoto National Museum. Their special exhibit was black and gold makie. Some of the stuff was absolutely gorgeous. You can see some of it here. I then headed over to Tofukuji since it is just one stop away. As I was leaving some dude came up and asked to take a picture of me in front of the temple. I was like "umm.... OK." Then he wanted to get one of us together. So, we did. I stood there for a second trying to figure out if he still wanted to talk to me but he moved off so I just left. He didn't chase after me so I have no idea what that was all about.

Anyway, I was too early to see the autumn foliage (haha), but I still took a bunch of pictures. Highlights are under the cut.

Wow, your pictures are lovely! I love all the torii there, and the zen garden. Thank you for sharing them!

When I was at Kumamoto castle a sweet little old lady asked to take a pic of me too. ^^' I was a bit bemused, but she was very nice so I went along with it!

I'm going to London Aquarium today! I'll take some pics for you, haha! ^_~

Yay! AQUARIUM!!!! <3 I can't wait for your pics! I found one in Mie I want to go to. It's really close to Ise too so I can kill two birds with one stone. I just need to plan it.

As long as there are people around I don't mind taking pictures. If it had been night and not crowded I may have run away screaming lol

I didn't end up going to the aquarium after all, but I went to the zoo instead, and they had a really great aquarium there, as well as a few other fish exhibits. When I saw these I thought of you: they're fish - they're black - and they're glittery! *_* I think they were my favourites, haha!

Strange dude indeed. I wasn't too freaked out, but only because there were lots of people around. I thought some of the taxi drivers were freakier actually. haha

The special exhibit hall of the museum (the first picture) is pretty, and the area around the museum is nice (but hard to photograph). But the main part of the museum is pretty bland (hence why I didn't take a picture).

It's a date for sure! Just let me know when you are over here next :)

I may have to go back to that temple in a few weeks when the leaves change color.

I don't know the meaning of the garden I went to, but it was really beautiful to look at. The grass checker place was really nice too. I bet it would feel good to walk on.

Hopefully the leaves will be pretty then! Some of the trees near me are already turning. I hope you are able to enjoy Kyoto again. How long will you be here?

I'm in Japan for 8 short days (lol all I could afford) - Tokyo for 4, and Kyoto for 3 (technically, with the endless plane ride, I guess I'm in Japan for 7 days T^T so short!)
