Hooray for a bad week, right?
It started bad on Monday, with crap from my boss. Let’s not go into that because it is more of the same. Tuesday actually wasn’t too bad, except for the fact that the lesson I had planned for the little kids totally flopped and I was left with you know, very little time to fix it before Wednesday.

Wednesday morning my first lesson was canceled. In my second lesson I started to feel really sick like I was going to throw up. I pushed through, and because I am a total idiot, I went to work as normal. I made it through my first two lessons, although at times I felt really weird (like I wasn’t in my body). My stomach didn’t hurt as much. Before the classes with the youngest kids, I was sitting in a chair trying to center myself AND think of something to do when my boss walked over. He asked if I was OK, so I said “no” for the first time ever. I ended up being helped down the stairs and I was put on a cot (built for preschool kids) for the rest of the day there. The principal and my boss came to check on me. Apparently I was really pale when I came down because the principal was freaking. I laid there until about 6:00 when the lessons ended and then I slowly sat up and waited for my boss to move his car. While I was laying there I found out that the teachers tell what they did with their classes, including what *I* did with their classes.

Anyway, by the time I got to my boss’s car my head was pounding, I was shaking and I kept seeing spots. It was 6:20. He looks at me and says “are you OK to teach the night classes?” I have 40 minutes to get there, no time to notify them really, so I say yes. That was hard. I kept feeling like I was going to pass out while I was teaching and it was hard not to fall over and vomit. Then my boss forced me to eat, so I made him take me to some place where I could have French fries (I needed the starch) and a salad (I needed the green vegetables). He kept saying “hot soup hot soup” like I don’t know what my body needs. Oh, and no one could believe I didn’t have a fever (I rarely get fevers. And can someone tell me why Japanese people get fevers all the time?)

Thursday I felt a little better but not too much. I pushed through all of my lessons because one was observed. That was interesting. The parents just sat in the back and talked almost the entire time. What’s the point in coming to watch your kids if all you are going to do is chat and distract everyone? I took a bunch of pain medicine but it didn’t work.

Friday I was feeling a little better, and I had dinner with Annie which made me feel better too. I watched the K8 PV and had a good laugh.

Saturday was a pretty good day. Up until the night. I still had a mild headache, but the pain got worse. And I couldn’t sleep last night.

So what made Saturday suck? The news that they checked all tickets for the first day of the Yoko solo con. My ticket isn’t in my name. Thus, I probably can’t go. Never mind that my friend got the ticket for me. Never mind that I paid for it. Never mind that she is going to another Johnny’s concert AT THE SAME TIME. We’ll see what happens – she is going to call the company and check. But more than likely, it’ll be a no-go.

It's getting better thanks. I have 4 teaching weeks left. And no ideas...... hahaha oops.

As for the ticket - the ticketing system for Johnny's is a random lottery. To increase my chances of going my friends and I applied, with my friends applying FOR me. It was only after they released the results that we found out that they may check IDs (which they are doing). I didn't hit with my membership information, but one of my friends did hit. Hence, the ticket is in her name.

Most concerts you can apply for 2-4 tickets with one membership. So you can apply for your friends. This time, for Yoko's show, they made it so that one membership = one ticket. I suppose because of how crazy it was last time.

As for overseas fans - I guess you will have to find someone to apply and take you now if they are going to be seriously seriously cracking down on the rules, or hope that they do Playguide or general public sales for the shows.

It sucks more for people who are in the fanclub but don't hit for tickets. My four closest friends and I personally have missed for 4 of the last 4 times for K8 (Yoko solo, Hina/Subaru solo, Yasu solo, Yoko solo 2), and we are waiting to hear back for the latest one (Spring tour). And for the last K8 tour a bunch of us missed for the hall shows too (but almost everyone hit for arena shows).

We shared the same faith on yesterday huh. Well of course not on the ticketing.
How could you pull off everything? I salute over your determination on the kids and for the responsibilities you have to bear.

Take care and have a great Sunday ahead.

They always say that they will check but every concert or event I have been to they have never checked. Plus, the only time that I know of where they checked was at an event 2 years ago and in much smaller venues, so I didn't think anything about it.
It just sucks because what if something seriously comes up and the person can't go? What if someone wants to give their friend a concert ticket for their birthday? Now they can't...... And think - if they start to check IDs for places where you can apply for more than one ticket - it will suck if the person who has the ticket suddenly can't go because now the other 3-4 people can't go as well.

Kinda makes me not want to be a fan.

I hope something can be worked out too. I don't know what is worse - not hitting, or hitting but not being able to go because they won't let people give tickets to their friends.

I feel a little better today, but with work coming up that of course may change. It was just weird because I haven't had a bad headache that has stuck around for *this* long in a while.

I haven't been to the doctor. I used to go to a neurologist when I was in high school but they could never figure out why I had chronic headaches. Now I just accept it and move on. I don't get headaches like I used to really so it isn't a big deal.

Ouch, I'm sorry. :( That really, really sucks. I know how you feel, teaching classes like that. They're not big on staying home when you're sick here, are they? :( I've worked through many classes like that, and I know how hard it is.

But I guess you read my hospital story. ^_^ Fuck if that wasn't the hardest class I've ever had to teach. I'm really lucky I didn't just pass out in the middle.

Anyway, I'm glad you're sort of feeling a little bit better and I'm sorry you had such a rough week.

My manager is really awesome and we are going to do everything we possibly can to allow you to use that ticket. I promise we'll try our hardest.

And they wonder why us foreign workers like to change jobs all the time..... maybe its because we are looking for jobs that will let us STAY HOME WHEN WE ARE SICK ASSHATS! hahaha No - I don't have pent up agression.

All through my headachey two days I kept thinking "I can do it. If Rachel can then so can I. Be strong Bex be strong!" haha You were my inspiration.

I hope that the company will let us do something. I should send you my address and info in case they do let you transfer it to my name. My friend told me that they were not letting people in if they didn't have ID and that they were also checking at the seats too...... This was just the first day, but there is no way now that they won't at least spot check. Maaaaan.

I hope they let us too. I sent you my info - let me know if you got it.

I hope this isn't the wave of the future. I can understand that they want to get rid of people selling tickets and all, but I hate to think that now we can't trade tickets if we hit duplicates or if something comes up, you know? And can you imagine if your friend hit for 4 tickets, then your friend's grandmother dies and now none of you can go because the friend can't go. That's just unfair!

(Reply to this) (Parent)(Thread)

[info]marcasitevah
2008-03-02 02:01 pm UTC (link)
They always use the lottery method, and honestly I like it for the most part. It used to mean that you didn't have to wait in line for hours, and you could still get tickets. Its helpful for fans who are also younger or work and can't wait in a ticket line or whatever. And everyone has the same chance to get awesome or bad seats.

Usually when you apply for tickets you list your top 3 choices for shows. That way if you get pulled but your first choice is full you can still make it for another one. A couple of the recent applications, however, have not allowed that. It looks like they are going to start restricting a lot more.

(Reply to this) (Parent)(Thread)

[info]dio_elaclaire
2008-03-02 04:15 pm UTC (link)
Now, after your explanation, it makes much more sense. I've never had problems with getting tickets for a show I've wanted to see, never had to stand in a long line either before. If I think about it, I'd probably chose a lottery over wasting hours waiting. On the other hand, there must be a very low chance of going to the show with a friend, right? (From my experience I've learned to always take a male friend with me, but I bet JE concerts aren't really life-threatening, are they? ;))

(Reply to this) (Parent)(Thread)

[info]marcasitevah
2008-03-03 12:50 am UTC (link)
Usually you can apply for up to 2-4 tickets for each concert, and therefore taking a friend is easy. Occasionally they limit it to maybe 2 depending on the situation (such as KinKi's 10th year Anniversary con). However, for this Yoko solo con they decided 1 membership = 1 ticket. I don't know exactly why but I assume because of how crazy it was to get tickets last time. And no - there is no need to take a male friend. The cons aren't life-threatening. Well...... unless something signed gets thrown your way THEN you may have to fight bad. I've seen girls with scratches from those fights. It's more fun to go with a friend, and most people do though.

I constantly get asked if I have a fever. I don't get it really. It doesn't help that my body temperature is lower than normal. I used to get sick in America and they would say I didn't have a fever. But they weren't factoring in the fact that I am 0.6-1.0 degrees lower than normal, so if I am at 99.6 that is like someone who is at 100.2-6. In any case, I don't get fevers often.

I am shocked they checked all of the Yoko tickets too. The last time they did this (Ohno's show) was like 2 years ago and for MUCH smaller places. It makes me wonder what they will change in the future....
